The Mera Peak Clean-Up and Awareness Expedition is a pilot project in collaboration with Hi On Life Adventures, a Nepali-based tourism operator to organise a new model emphasiziing ethical and sustainable practices and involving participants.

With this new project our objectives are :

  • to promote sustainable practices in the organisation of the expedition itself (regarding travel, approach, accommodation and the ascension of the Mera Peak)
  • to involve participants (participation in a climate change workshop, waste collection) with local communities
  • to collect waste and install trash bins along the route in coordination with local communities

  • to collaborate with a local NGO to bring back the waste to Kathmandu and process it.

Why we will make a difference:
♻️ Collect and properly dispose of waste along the trail and at base camps.
πŸš™No flights within Nepal, use local land-based transportation to reduce carbon footprint and support sustainable travel practices.
🌍Raise awareness about the importance of sustainable trekking practices.
🀝Support local communities by collaborating  and promoting eco-friendly tourism.
